Villa Tolomei: Our Home in Florence
Villa Tolomei was our home during our trip to Florence, Italy. It's such a beautiful villa! Even the drive in to get to the front desk is beautiful, and really makes you feel like you're on a beautiful little escape.
The villa is across the river from the town center, so it's nice and quiet, and really a pleasant place to wake up and start your day.
The terrace had the most beautiful views of Florence. It was such a great spot to see the sky change as the sun set.
It was pretty chilly when we were in Florence, so we tried navigating our way inside the villa instead of walking around outside at night to get between the rooms. I love all the different blues you see in the villa, and the different artwork they have in different rooms and hallways.
Set in a 14th-century manor house on 20 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, this refined hotel is 3 km from art at the Uffizi Gallery and 4 km from the 13th-century Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore.
The elegant, warmly decorated rooms provide free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and minifridges; some offer garden access and/or city and park views. Suites add sitting areas, while upgraded suites feature frescoed ceilings and countryside views.
A breakfast buffet and parking are complimentary. There's also an upscale restaurant with a terrace. Other amenities include a heated outdoor pool, a gym and a hammam, plus massage services.
